I was at the gym today.

I was at the gym today, and my workout partner made a crack at a liberal friend about how conservatives can't get a fair shake in the media. The liberal immediately started teasing my friend (and believe me, it was all in good fun) about how he (sarcasm) had faced a lot of obstacles in his life, how he had really had to overcome a lot of barriers. The clear implication was that we whitebread Montana boys didn't know suffering and, frankly, didn't care.

This demonstrated a real fallacy of the left. They love to tart around thinking that conservatives are mean, greedy assh*les who don't care about the less fortunate.

Not true.

I sincerely care about those who have a bad run. I do a lot of charity work, and give a lot of money to charity. But my political ideology is born not of indifference, but realism.

The policies of the left don't work. Taking my money and giving it to another doesn't work. If socialism was a resounding success, I'd support it. It's not.
