Gov. Schweitzer

Speaking of the MTLA seminar, Gov. Schweitzer popped in and said a few words. He pledged his support to the trial lawyers because they, like he, are "for Montana families."

Aren't we all for Montana families? I am, heck I'm a part of a couple of them.

Really, the difference is in the how right? In other words, do we really believe Republicans hate people? No, I think most politicians have good motives, but disagree over how best to achieve what are essentially common ends. Most conservatives (Note that I didn't say "Republicans." They are not necessarily the same thing.) believe that by granting people more freedom in the marketplace we will improve the lot of most if not all citizens. Most leftists, on the other hand, believe the way to improve the lot of the less fortunate is to take money from you and give it to someone else.

But, "I'm for Montana families?" Do platitudes like that really get us anywhere? How much longer are we going to accept meaningless stuff like that from our leaders?
