Middle Schools

Regardless of what you think about the decision to close East Middle School, you have to appreciate the fact that this whole thing worked the way it's supposed to. Citizens, angry with a decision of their elected officials, invested themselves in the democratic process and got elected. It sure beats armed revolt.

It makes you wonder, too, what these new school board members will do after they change the decision to close East. And what then? What about the advocates for Paris Gibson Middle School?

Can you say, "Be careful what you wish for?"

I heard the latest vote was 6 - 1 to close Paris Gibson. Who was the holdout?
