Lewis and Clark
Thank god for the Tribune to remind us not to be upset about the $500,000.00 plus loss on the Lewis and Clark Event. I woulda thunk it was our money or something.
And, since a big part of the revenue was "grant money," don't you have to wonder if the taxpayers really lost even more than that, or at least subsidized some of the loss?
Now, I said it before, and I'll say it again. No one should lose their job over this. We want city government to be proactive. I don't blame them for taking the risk. But the fact is that it was bad forecasting; it was wrong. So, there better not be any goodies handed out at evaluation time for the city employees responsible. It was a bad year guys. Had you been right, you'd have gotten a bonus. You weren't.
