Hurricane Blame

Yesterday, the Tribune wrote this very nice editorial pointing out the fact that now is the time for us to "dig into [our] pockets to provide monetary help" to those affected by Hurricane Katrina, rather than worry about who is at 'fault' for the events in New Orleans and the vicinity. A nice sentiment.

Then, incredibly, today they printed a Molly Ivins piece under the heading "Post-hurricane blame game begins -- and for a reason." The point of the piece was to blame the incompetence of Bush and his appointees, their politicization of FEMA, and to blame the rest of America for being racists.

Stop me before I blame again!

I read Ivins' piece -- what garbage. Amazing how she transitions into the race issue. Idiot.
