Quote

Wouldn't paraphrased have been a better choice of words for the reporter?

Today's Tribune carried this article about Gov. Schweitzer's economic plans. In it, the reporter states: "Quoting Ronald Reagan's Cold War challenge to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, Schweitzer addressed owners of 'trophy ranches' who fence out hunters and anglers: 'Tear that wall down!' "

I don't know why the reporter didn't bother to be accurate, but the true quote was: "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

I'm not quite sure why I am so nit-picky this morning...

Right on, GeeGuy -- it's these tiny little language things that drive me nuts, too.
