Zoning Permits

The City Commission is considering whether to charge $25.00 for a zoning permit. This would be an advance determination as to whether a proposed use is allowed under the land use code.

I have no problem with the proposed permit under one condition: the land use code needs to be amended to provide that, once the permit is issued for the $25.00 fee, the landowner has an absolute, irrevocable right to rely on the permit, regardless of errors made by city staff.
