Local Blogger dissed by the Tribune
After the Tribune's "rather whiney complaint last week about how much time is wasted listening to cell-phone voicemail," local blogger David at GreaterFalls.com solved their problem at precisely 12:33 pm on February 3, 2007.
In today's Tribune, the Editorial Board wrote about the solution to problem, but credited "Jeremiah" in their forums:
Probably in the book
We got useful feedback — in the office and in Story Chats — on our rather whiney complaint last week about how much time is wasted listening to cell-phone voicemail message. We haven't tested it on many cell-phone services yet, but on some — including Verizon — it works simply to push the "star" button (asterisk) when the message starts. It passes you straight through to the beep. We've already saved upward of half an hour of dead time by employing that technique.
We're told that pushing the number "1" works on some other services, but we haven't had the need yet.
Thanks to Jeremiah in the forums, Bob Evans of Geyser via e-mail, and Assistant Communities Editor Ryan Hall in the office.
Manual? We don't need no stinking manual.
The problem, though, is that Jeremiah didn't solve the problem until Feb 03, 2007 at 4:03 pm.
Tsk, tsk.

Tsk tsk indeed...and what makes it even more galling is that I suspect that at least one of those people read my entry first (but I won't mention names).
Lame ... lame, lame, lame. You appear to have a serious case of narcissistic attention deficit: People aren't paying attention to you.
It was a joke, Fred.
