MEIC Lawsuit-Tribune's Take

I thought the Tribune did a pretty good job covering the MEIC lawsuit.

Here is the Tribune's recitation of City Manager John Lawton's response: "John Lawton, city manager for Great Falls, said the city was simply following the law when preliminary drafts were withheld from Christensen. It's the job of the courts to decide whether those laws are correct. "I guess we'll find out," he said." [Emphasis added]

Where have we seen this before? Oh yeah, Mr. Gliko the City Attorney put it the same way. Notice how both these officials phrase it like the law prevents them from disclosing the information? "Gosh, we'd like to release the information, we really would, but our hands are tied..."

Not true. First, there is nothing in the law that prevents disclosure of this information. That is simply spin or, at worst, misinformation.

Second, you can read the case for yourself and decide whether the City's position is credible.

What don't they want us to know? And why?

Not that it makes a difference, but it looks like the Motl firm ghost-wrote Exhibit C for Dr. Christensen. They are the only ones who use that font.
