Press

As a part of investigating the Overfield story, I was told that two of the local TV stations had video of her being removed from the meeting, KFBB and KRTV.

I went to their websites. At KFBB I sent what I thought was a very polite email to their news director, Julie Klesh, to see if I could obtain a copy of the video. At KRTV, I telephoned Jeff Van Sant and sent him an email, since I was told he was the reporter present at the meeting.

Did they politely decline? No. They ignored me.

Now, to those of you who have ever been the subject of a news story, you will find this ironic. I say so because if the news media wants to talk with you they are dogged in their pursuit.

Open letter to the recipients of my requests: If I can ever return the favor? Don't ask.

Speaking of ignored requests....

What's going on with the rest of the City business ventures and the files that are supposed be available for public oversight?

Just wondering, did you happen to see Watson's editorial cartoon in the Trib today? I generally like Watson's stuff a lot, but I thought that this particular one lacked either humor or insight. It basically slammed Susan O. What is insightful or humorous about that? And it was wrong too. I think that Watson needs to go back to the drawing board. If the Trib REALLY wanted a nice cartoon, how bout drawing Susan O. lying prostrate on the ground, with chief dorky and primadonna each with a foot on her, and their hands clasped together above their heads in a sign of victory, and a timeclock showing three o'five elapsed minutes! Then, in the background, a sneering jonny lotten and his SME pals smoking cigars and smiling with their thumbs stuck in their lapels, congratulating chief dorky and primadonna, while clouds of cigar smoke fill the room and cause the audience to gag! Now THERE'S a cartoon for you, Watson! If you're gonna draw, SAY sumtin'! Course that one probably wouldn't make it past the ed board's oversight and primadonna's approval. Problem with the new, improved Tribune, you gotta check your nuts at the door. Must be hard for the remaining REAL journalists there.

How much of today's political cartoon in the Trib is aimed at trying to change people's minds about how bad the mayor, police, city manager, and commissioners are? The cartoon is about putting blame on Overfield, not where it should be, on the group running the circus. When people in the wrong are caught out they try very hard to point a finger elsewhere. Is this what the Trib is trying to do for the city officials, the police and even itself? Must be, they all got caught red-handed on tape and by eye-witnesses.
Smear campaign, panic is in the air

Watson's cartoon is making a mockery of every citizen that tries to speak publically. It could be me, it could be you. But, what the cartoon really says it what THEY think of US, the citizens and their money which runs the system.
Don't speak, we don't want to hear you. We will do what we want and you can't say a thing. Don't question us, you have no right or need to know. The 3-minute rule is censorship at best because the elected body decides what they want to hear.
Watson's cartoon shows which side the Trib has sold out to. Overfield is a symbol of how they think they can treat the citizens of Great Falls.

My response of no response?

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what I was supposed to have responded to.
