Mayoral Forum-Preface
I received three responses to my inquiries. All three challengers to the incumbent Mayor, Dona Stebbins, chose to respond. From my initial reading of the responses, all three offered thoughtful and reasonable responses.
I intend to post the responses, one question at a time. For reasons that are nobody's business but mine, though, I am presently working on a laptop. I do not relish the formatting necessary to post the responses on a laptop, so the going may be slow. In other words, it might be a day or two before I really get going.
Here's how I envision it working (or not working, as the case may be). I will post the question and the responses of each candidate. I may offer my insights, hopefully briefly, and will then open it up to you for comments. Then the candidates will, again, hopefully, respond. And maybe, just maybe, we can get a little dialog going. Why? Because all three of these folks have ideas, some maybe good, some maybe not. Maybe we can help them refine them into policy that will work. If anything has shone through of late, it is our desire to have input, to be heard. Remember, each of these people is giving us that chance.
So, let's be on our best behavior. Direct, thoughtful questions/criticism: good. Rude attacks: Not so good.
As far as our little forum being snubbed by the incumbent, well, that's for another day, isn't it?
