Quote of the Day
Sen. Jim Elliot, a leftist from Trout Creek, had sponsored a bill that would give some taxpayers a $155.00 rebate. According to the Tribune, it died a "quiet death." Noting that some businessmen said they would take their business elsewhere if the bill passed, Sen. Elliot said (and I kid you not):"I am angry that people, who have stayed in the state of Montana (for years) with the highest marginal tax rate, would threaten to leave the state if they got less of a tax cut than they expected," Elliott said.
How dare they threaten to take our money somewhere else. Don't they know that Jim Elliot owns the fruits of their labor? They've endured the highest marginal tax rate for years, what absolute gall to suggest they'll leave.
Memo to Trout Creek: Please fire this guy.
