Uninsured swimmers?
Ok, let me get this straight. We can't afford to fix the pools, but we're going to raise taxes to pay for health insurance for government employees.
"Hello, Mr. Client? I'm not going to work on your file as much as I used to, and I will not give you the same level of service, but I will actually need you pay me more since my cost of living has increased."
By god, I think it just might work.

At the City Commission meeting, I was astounded that I was the only one to show up to protest the tax hike and ask the City to consider alternatives. After the "Intent to Increase Tax" resolution passed, I was not that astonished. Obviously, the City has orchestrated this scenario before, and people have become discouraged regarding their ability to fight what "Teflon" John Lawton deems necessary.
I think that the citizens of this community are growing discouraged. After the public outcry about the sign code was ignored, why should anyone feel compelled to make their voice heard?
