Power Contracts-Update

Last week I sought copies of power contracts. City Clerk, Lisa Kunz, called me today and told me she still hasn't been able to get them for me.

I'll keep you posted.

We have local government 'open for business' and not 'Open Government' as our Constitutions direct.....how long does it take for the city to 'find' the documents.....? No wonder people
give up....

The dog ate my homework. How professional of them.

Hope the new to be city manager realizes what a POS he is handed and starts brooming first thing.

Today's Tribune
SME accountant writes, "The terms of repayment for any amounts owed from water credits are specified by a written agreement between the parties."
I'm wondering when it was written, did the elected officials approve it, does what Mr. Lawton said on Youtube agree with what SME's accountant said. Later today I will request a copy of the agreement.

Just checked about water credit agreement. Not a new one. Colleen told me that the term,"specified" is wrong. It is the same agreement that is somewhere on this weblog.
And I thank Colleen for her help.

Here is another "Boondoggle" power contract between the city and SME. It is the "Wholesale Power Agreement between SME and Great Falls" to be voted on at the Commissioners meeting Oct 2nd, 2007.

Section 22 is of very particular interest. It reads as follows:
22. COGEN FACILITY: The City may operate a cogeneration facility at its
Wastewater Treatment Facility. It shall sell power generated by the Cogen Facility to
SWE on terms mutually agreed by the Parties. SME will resell that power back to the
City at the same price subject to terms and conditions established by the Board for the
resale, including an administrative fee for administration and scheduling.

This is a disaster and insult to the citizens of Great Falls who paid for this generation facility. The current city administration is not looking out for the best interest of the citizens, but instead appear in SME's pocket. This contact is ludicrous at best and if the City Commissioners vote to pass it they will be showing the same degree of disinterest for Great Falls citizens as the current city administration does......craziness!
