He's just being a "TRD."

TRD (at least I am assuming it's his or her initials) posted a comment:

Mayor,
Which commissioner decided it would be a good idea to start a power company?

This was in response to the Mayor's earlier comment that it is the Commission, not staff, who direct policy.

Mayor Stebbins and I disagree about the value or merit of anonymity. I think anonymity in posting is completely understandable; she thinks people should own up to their words. She did not want to respond to TRD's anonymous comment.

Mayor Stebbins suggested that TRD contact her directly. I don't know if TRD did so.

I thought TRD's point was valid, though. There is often a perception, that I sometimes share, that Staff is directing policy and the Commission is merely reviewing and implementing it. Since I am not anonymous, I will re-ask TRD's question.

Was the idea that the City of Great Falls should venture into the electric business, and build a power plant, an idea that came from the City Commission, or was it one that came to the City Commission?
